India is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of lathe machines, with Rajkot, Gujarat serving as the primary production hub. All-geared lathes, CNC turning centres, and tool room lathes manufactured here are exported to over 60 countries worldwide.

Step 1: Choose the Right Machine and Specification

Lathe machines come in a wide range of bed lengths (4.5 ft to 10 ft), swing diameters, and HP ratings. For export orders, always confirm the destination country’s power supply standard (50Hz vs 60Hz, 220V vs 440V) before finalising the specification.

Step 2: Export Documentation Required

  • Commercial Invoice (with HS Code 8458.11 for CNC, 8458.99 for others)
  • Packing List with gross/net weights and dimensions
  • Certificate of Origin (from EEPC India or Chamber of Commerce)
  • Shipping Bill filed at Mundra/JNPT Port
  • Bill of Lading (Ocean) or AWB (Air)
  • Insurance Certificate

Step 3: Packaging for Ocean Freight

Lathe machines must be packed in fumigated wooden crates meeting ISPM-15 standards. The machine headstock, tailstock, and accessories should be packed separately with foam padding. Apply a rust-inhibitor coating on all machined surfaces before packing.

Step 4: Select Your Incoterm

Most buyers prefer FOB (Free on Board) from Rajkot/Mundra port, which means Oceanhearrt handles inland transport and port charges. CIF (Cost, Insurance and Freight) is preferred by buyers who want a complete landed-cost quotation.

Step 5: Payment Terms

Standard payment terms for lathe machine exports are 30% advance by T/T wire transfer, and 70% balance before shipment against document copy. For long-term clients, we also accept L/C at sight.
